Oh man, this hit different. I knew it was dark, and I like dark, but this author didn't spare anyone. Blood splatter, ripped flesh and gaping bones, and some where the MC went mad. That was cool.

This is a great book. Gave me another point of view of fairytales. The storytelling had me hooked, and the horror was not only gore, but psychological, supernatural and modern.

This book is alright for a short story horror, or dark fairytale reimaginings. Stories are a bit short, but this is their first novel so it's okay. Not for children as there's violence and psychological horror. Didn't understand the bible verses at first but then realized it was the author hinting their story's concept. Pay attention to that. Otherwise I thought it wasn't too bad.

Firstly, this book is creative when it comes to dark themes. Just the first story left me contemplating about things. Certain stories leave you disturbed, others not really. Some stories builds up toward the horror while others immediately begins with the horror. Pacing was quick but it's short stories. I loved the twist endings most of all though. If Dani writes more novels I'll try another of her books.
